Remember how we wrote about flexibility? Well, it came into play the day after I made our last post. That night Brian said that the weather looked good and we would be sailing out the next day. What I gasp, we leave tomorrow? I have to prepare food so that we have easy eats when we are at sea! OK, no matter with some quick thinking I was busy that night making hard boiled eggs, hummus to eat with chips, potato salad and for our first night out, ratatouille with pasta. We were ready to go.
With such short notice were were not able to say good bye to all of our friends in Luperon. Sorry that we did not get to see you in person but we will miss all of you! As much as I had had mixed feelings about being in Luperon (because it seemed as if it was the end of the world and hard to get some of the supplies that I liked to have on hand) I am going to still miss the town. The people here, expats and locals alike are good people and this was a great place to spend hurricane season. We loved touring the country by motorcycle and felt that our boat was in a safe harbor.
We have lots to write about. We ended up in Samana DR because we really wanted to see Los Haitises National Park. We are enjoying our time here and it’s a real tourist city with lots going on.
We have new stories and LOTS of pictures to share including a hairy night at sea as we set off to Puerto Rico (we’re OK but, we did not make it to PR. That’s a whole another story that we’re gonna save for later). Internet is not easy to come by so we just wanted to get something posted for now and to let you know that there is lots of excitement to come. As soon as we can get a good internet connection we be sharing everything with you. Take care for now and we hope that you’ll stay tuned.
