Our Story

Brian and Jennifer on Pier, Chub Cay2

We are sailors who bought a Searunner trimaran and sailed from our home town of Panama City Beach, FL in November 2010. She is a 37ft Searunner named “Moon”. Our first adventures took us through south FL, the Bahamas, and we just about circumnavigated Jamaica. We also sailed through and stopped at all three of the Bay Islands of Honduras. We weathered out 2011 hurricane season in Rio Dulce, Guatemala and made a stop in Isla Mujeres, Mexico on our way home to avoid a late season hurricane.

We are not retired or wealthy so when we run out of spending money we head back home to NW FL to work, always with the sea on our minds.

After we refilled our cruising kitty we set sail again in 2013.

We started out our next voyage by leaving our home town of Panama City Beach, FL and heading south. We sailed through the Bahamas, (love these islands!), spent five weeks in Turks and Caicos, and weathered out a hurricane season in the Dominican Republic, what a blast that was! Then off to Puerto Rico, the Spanish Virgin Islands, the US Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands. From there we sailed further south through the Leeward Island and some of the Windward Islands. We’ve spent time in St. Martin and St.Maarten, St. Kitts, Antigua and Barbuda, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique and St. Lucia. So far St. Lucia is the most southern island that we have sailed to. We always stay as long as we can in each port getting to know the people and their beautiful islands. For the last three years we’ve hunkered Moon down in St. Kitts during hurricane season at a boat yard called St. Kitts Marine Works. (Info and pics boatyard on the if you search the blog) We are currently anchored off the small island of Culebra, Puerto Rico which just happens to be one of our favorites. We are always asked what island is out favorite and admittedly it is hard to choose!

We never have plans set in stone as to where our next destination will be, like in a long ago song…”anyway the wind blows”…

We hope that you enjoy our adventures –

Brian and Jennifer
