Happy New Year!

Posted by on January 12, 2014

We had a great 2013 but are looking forward to an even better 2014. As I’m writing this we are sailing along at about 6 to 7 knts on our way to Long Key. We spent a very calm night anchored right outside of Little Shark River inlet. We have sun today…yea!! Haven’t seen the sun in about 3 or 4 days. We left Cape Coral in light rain, it was a gloomy, wet day.

The day that we left Brian’s mom was helping us get all of our last minute shopping done and she asked me if I was getting excited now that we were finally on our way, well at the time reality had not hit me yet and the excitement was not quite there….well it is now as we head to our jumping off point for Bimini. The sun is shining, spirits have brightened and we are ready for our adventures to begin.

The last couple of months have been great. We had a chance to spend some quality time with family. Rachel flew down for Christmas and to surprise my mom for her birthday. It was awesome to see her one last time before we headed off. Hopefully she will fly and meet us somewhere along the way and see what the island life is all about.

Had a great time with everyone. We took our first trip to a dog track and lost a couple of bucks…really just a couple, two dollars for Rachel and two for me. Brian was the real winner though because his cash stayed in his pockets…go figure. Thanks Dad and Marilyn for the great fun.

New Years Eve was a blast spent with Brian’s mom, sister, brother in law and our niece. Fireworks everywhere and a late night dinghy ride in the canal. We had lots of fun.

Well that’s all for now…with memories of the last couple of months dancing in our heads and the excitement of what lies ahead for us we’ll sign off for now. Many great adventures ahead just around the bend 🙂 ….stay tuned.

Oh yea…the high today is 82 and the low for tonight 75.

Hello shorts…good bye sweatpants!

Loving the warm temps for a sunny January day.

I took Patricia, my daughter, her boyfriend and my grandson out to the gulf today. First time since Brian helped bring True Gift back from ShellPoint. Chilly on the way back in but nice during the day! Sounds like you are living the life I am preparing for! Have fun! Brian & Patricia
