Nassau is the land of the BIG city. If you want it, if you need it you can get it here and you better stock up because it’s nothing but mom and pop stores from here on out for us cruisers. Brian has always liked it here. Not so much for me. Don’t get me wrong it’s great for sightseeing and has everything that a big city can offer but it’s also crowded, noisy and the anchorage is very active meaning that you rock and roll pretty much all hours of the day and night with boats speeding left and right and all over the place!

We anchored just past the cruise ship port across from the Green Parrot Restaurant. Last time we anchored here it was just a seawall with restaurants and such on the shoreline. Now there is a big marina right in the same spot. We were still able to find the dinghy dock that we used last time and were able to pull right up to the restaurant for a refreshing beverage and to make our plans for our stay.

After having some lunch we decided to talk a walk to the end of the marina to stretch our legs a bit before heading back to the boat. When we reached the end of the dock to our surprise we saw a boat that we recognized from Panama City. It was Adagio, Pierre and Bambi’s boat. This was a nice surprise. We hadn’t seen them in so long and it was nice to see familiar faces. You should check out their blog, they’ve been having lots of fun in their travels too.  http://adagiosadventures.blogspot.com

Anyhow we been exploring lots of Nassau by foot because the roads are crazy and there is no way that we could use our bikes here. We’re having fun, making new friends with other sailors and just having a good time. Our adventures brought us yesterday to the back of a police car, first time for me…no worries we are safe on our boat right now but I will save that story for next post just to keep you in suspense….love you all take care.
