We are back to the grind and back to our landlubber life. Without it we can’t do what we enjoy most…sailing and exploring on our beloved Moon. She’s high and dry in St. Kitts and we are here in PCB, FL. I get sad when I think of her there all alone…does she miss us? My Mom put it to me in a way that made me feel better about leaving her there all alone on the dry. She said to think of it as we were letting her get some rest. Nobody was walking all over her and the sea and all of it’s little creatures could not harm her in anyway. Mom said that Moon is an old girl and deserves a rest. OK, I think I can see that reasoning but, I’m sure that Moon misses us and I can’t wait until we get back to loving her. I know that we miss her!
Landlubber life…hmm, what can I say. It’s nice I suppose. Unlimited running water, and we get both the hot and cold variety, air conditioning and heat on demand, heck we even have a dishwasher and a washer and dryer…definitely luxury! It’s nice to have four walls with a high ceiling and multiple rooms to roam in when it rains too, I can’t discount that. But I miss gazing out of the hatch above my head at the countless stars at night or waking up to a incredible sunrise right out my companion way, diving right off our back deck into an endlessly blue sea of new wonders and finishing the day with the sky with full of the most beautiful oranges and reds on the earth.
Being on a boat continuously fills all of your senses and you really see and feel this amazing world around you.
On the boat each day is different and here land life not so much. I know I can hear all of your hearts breaking for us…boo hoo. But once you’ve experienced that there is more to life than the same old thing every day I guess that you just expect more. Luckily we work on the water. Brian is at a marina and I get to take tourists to see the local bottlenose dolphins which I have to admit is a really fun job. I get to see one off the most beautiful creatures on earth each day and I still get to meet new people so kinda like traveling I suppose.

Our favorite part of coming “home” is seeing our families and we got a chance to see everyone when we first got back and hope that everyone will visit us this summer too!
So landlubber life has its plus sides too 🙂
I’m gonna try to write something here and there just to keep some of you interested in our blog not that we have much to share through the summer here. I’m betting that you will see lots of dolphin pics and I’ll take some around the marina too so that our cruising friends can see what we do in our “other” life, lol!
